The Couple Day

Hey lovelies!

Pretty much every Saturday is a couple day for me and Scott. We like to take this day to do stuff together and make it special, he brought me a cute carrot cake for a snack from a local bakery near my house, I love it and haven't had it in years, it was so yummy, We went to the cinema and out for a meal for our couple thing, as well as a bit of shopping. We're the Millers is such a good film and real funny one, I was laughing so much throughout it. Jennifer Aniston plays a more strong and bad ass woman than the usual ditzy cute person I've seen her in previous films. It was hilarious throughout the whole thing and I think you should all go see it!

I didn't have a lot of money today so Scott treated me to a few bits, nothing beauty/fashion though (not like me) I was very tempted to get some bits from boots but I'll wait til I get paid aha. He got me an adorable phone case, some arty supplies for some designs I'm doing (You will find out more about that tomorrow) and a gorgeous Daenerys Targaryen Figure from Forbidden Planet, she is my ultimate favourite character from Game of Thrones and I've been after this for weeks, but its always sold out, it was finally in stock today and I nabbed the last one, muahaha.

I've had a lovely Saturday and I'm ready to just chill for the evening, what have you guys been up to?

Cherry & Chocolate Chip Mini Muffins

Hey lovelies, so I've been baking again, ah, I love it. Anyway, I was going to make breakfast muffins but my local shop didn't have all the stuff I needed so I made mini muffins with cherries and chocolate chips, I guess you could still have them for breakfast but maybe it'd be better for a mid-morning snack.

You will need:

  1. 1 tsp Baking powder
  2. 300g Self Raising Flour
  3. Pinch of salt
  4. 1 tsp Cinnamon
  5. 150g Light brown sugar
  6. 250ml Milk
  7. 2 eggs
  8. 100g melted butter
  9. Small pot of Glace Cherries
  10. Dark Chocolate Chips

Step 1 - Before you do any mixing, pre-heat the oven to Gas Mark 4 (180 degrees)

Step 2 - In one bowl, put the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, sugar and salt and mix together.

Step 3 - In another bowl put the melted butter, eggs and milk and mix together

Step 4 - Pour the liquid ingredients into the other bowl with the flour and etc in. Mix them together gently but as soon as it's been poured in, Add in your cherries and chocolate chips or whatever you choose and mix those into it.

Step 5 - Put them into fairy cake cases evenly and put them in the oven for 20 minutes. If you prefer you can use big muffin sized cases as I got 35 out of this because I made small ones, but I'm going to be giving them to friends and family.

Decoration - I wanted them to look a bit more fancy and less plain so I decided to drizzle some icing sugar over the top. For icing sugar it has instructions on the back of the box, so follow them but make it a bit thicker so it doesn't just melt all over the top.

And ta-daaa! There are your lovely yummy mini muffins, I tried one (the one above) and it tasted amazing while it was still a little warm as it had the chocolate chips melted.

Are you going to try and make these? Let me know how it turns out!

Watch, Read, Listen: August

Vampire Diaries Seasons 1 - 4

I've recently got Netflix, well I'm still in the trial but I came across Vampire Diaries. I've never seen it before but always wanted to, I just kind of forgot. I love most vampire things like twilight and all that so I thought I'd give a go. Saying I'm obsessed with this show now is an understatement. I can't get enough I've spent about 2-3 whole days in my boyfriends bed watching it and got him roped into it. I love the twists and the story line, got teary eyed quite a few times so keep some tissues near by. 100% recommend you watch this is you like supernatural/romance stuff.

Read - I haven't read anything this month so I have no review to make, opps, I've been busy living at my boyfriends for two weeks and watching Vampire Diaries to be honest (Highly addicted) I will have a book for next month lovelies :)

One Direction - Best Song Ever

Yes, yes, I'm a secret Directioner, well kind of. I do love some of there songs but I'm not gonna have loads of posters and merchandise. I am planning on going to see there film though with a friend, I think it'll be really good. I heard a lot of good response from the You tubers that went to the premier. But anyway, I've been loving there new song 'best song ever'. It gets in your head very easily aha, I've found myself singing it allll day and having it on repeat for way too long. So this month I'm loving 1D!

What you loving this month?

A bit of pink here & there

If you know me at all, or have been following me on instagram you will know that I love pink, and anything pink, I have many pink nail polishes but these are my favourite. I love how it actually looks on my nails, dark to light and think I will do it more often because I only did it for like a swatch to show you guys. Might try and do it with other colours too, which requires more shopping, yay!

So from thumb to pinky I have Butter London - Primrose Hill Picnic, Avon - Viva Pink, Topshop Nails - Daydream, Essie - We're in it together and finally Rimmel London - Ring a Ring o' Roses.

I normally go for the pastel pinks like the Essie and Rimmel one, its what I think looks the prettiest and elegant, but I like the bright pinks too, I just don't wear them as much.

Do you like pink nails?

Todays Beauty Bits

Hey beautiful's, I'm doing a sort of 'face of the day' but a few bits extra added in. I liked my make up choices and wanted to share it with you guys.

For my face, I used Maybelline Fit Me foundation in 115 as I'm as pale as a ghost and collection concealer in the lightest shade for all those bits you need a bit more help with, I haven't got a big collection of blushers at the moment, shopping is needed so I went for my trusty Rimmel Live Pink blush.

I wanted a neutral look on my eyes but with a bit of shimmer, but also used my MUA palette to do my eyebrows as well. For my eye brows I used the 5th colour in (Lavish) and a clear eye liner to help set it. For my eyeshadow I used the 4th one in (Fiery) and the 2nd to last (Obsessed) to contour. I've loved using the benefit mascara lately which I was surprised about because I'm not a fan of plastic applicators and an eye lash curler for a fuller look.

As I went neutral on the eyes, I went for a bright lip, I chose berry smooch from Avon, I love a purple/lilac lip and it went really well as I had a lot of purples in my top. I did a mini mani and chose Passion fruit from Barry M

Extra bits, I'm to my second bottle of Flowerbomb now, can't get enough, its a beautiful scent and stays on all day which is a big thing for me. My gorgeous watch from Debenhams and I kept my baby lips with me to go over my lips and moisture throughout the day.

What was your make up look today?

The Sunday Post: Shop, Sit back & Relax

Hey guys, hope you've all had a lovely week. This week I haven't done all that much to be honest, kind of keeping relaxed as I'm hoping my days will soon be filled with work and uni, if someone will employ me that is! aha. I've been at my Scott's all week because his parents are away, which means lovely cuddles every night before sleepy time, yay happy Emmy.

I got paid on Saturday and did a very big shop which made my bank balance cry. I spent £77 in Primark and got some lovely treats from Marks and Spencers. I have been looking everywhere that sells Macaroons and my boyfriend spotted them today so I brought two boxes, may have eaten one already, opps, my thighs will not thank me. In Primark I pretty much just stocked up on some basics that added up to a lot, strappy tops, leggings, a shirt, a satchel, 3 pairs of shoes and some other bits. I also found this baggy, soft, snuggly hoodie which I'm currently wearing and will probably wear a lot in the coming winter.

Netflix, everyone seems to have it now and I thought I'm jump right on the bandwagon, well, free trial anyway, I'm impressed so far but waiting to see if I'm £5.99 a month impressed. I've watched the whole first season of Orange is the new Black (AMAZING) and just started on The Vampire Diaries, I've never seen it before but I like vampire stuff so I'm sure I can get into it.

I've decided to start doing a Sunday post to catch you guys up on my week rather than the 'life lately' posts. I may think of something else to do if I still want to put some instagram photos on my blog :)

What have you guys been up to?

Models Own - Cloud Drops & Terra Crystal

(Cloud Drops)

(Terra Crystal)

I love doing my nails as much as any girl and have well over 50 nail polishes, so whats a few more to add to the collection. I actually got these 2 Artstix polishes from Models own on a twitter giveaway, which was so lovely of them and everyone likes free stuff. I love these colours and think they are very good for the Autumn/Winter months coming up, the Cloud drops (Cream and Gold) reminds me of Christmas, the white snow and the gorgeous gold glitter which is everywhere in the Christmas season.

Having the two different polishes in one product can give you lots of different ideas. I even tried swapping the different glitter covers with the plain polishes and they both look gorgeous on each, Gold and brown has always been a good colour match in my opinion as well as Cream and pink. You can do just an accent nail as you can see in the first photos or all of them which you can see in the second.

I also did some glitter at the top or bottom of the nail, turning it into an ombre effect. I completely suggest getting them and having a look at what brilliant nail designs you can come up with. They have a lot of other colours and mixes so go check it out on their online store

Vaseline Spray & Go - Body Moisturiser

I'm a lover of anything that gives me more convenience as I'm quiet lazy in some areas of my life. Moisturising my body is one of them. I hate standing there all nakey, waiting for it to sink in my skin and feeling all sticky and greasy. I came across this on the boots website and thought I would give it a go. I got it with my boots advantage points so I didn't have to spend any money, which is every shoppers dream.

For starters, it smells amazing and the cocoa scent lingers on your skin for quite a few hours, so you smell lovely throughout the day. It's in an aerosol can which gives it the convenience. You just spray it over your body, keep the can about 10 cm away from your skin, quickly rub it in an it absorbs in a matter of seconds and I didn't feel greasy or sticky and got dressed straight away, does exactly what it says on the tin ;).

They also have the moisturiser in Aloe Fresh and Essential Moisture, so I'm looking forward to trying those after this one has ran out. I'm hoping they last quiet a while as they are £4.99 which is a bit expensive for a moisturiser but so far I think it is certainly worth the money. I have been using it for the last few days and my skin feels really healthy and feels so much better than it did before. I recommend it 100%

Have you tried this yet? What did you think?

Back to school essentials

We all know what time is getting closer and closer each day, early mornings, deadlines, homework and "stop chatting and listen!". We know it too well. But I'm actually looking forward to it in a sense, I like learning (nerd alert) and I love that I get to see my best friend every day again. My uni course starts on 16th September and I found out I'm there Mon-Fri only for 3 and a half hours a day, not to bad, hey. I've chose to do this post on my back to school essentials because if you guys are anything like me you'll of forgot something, I probably already have, you can tell me in the comments below! aha.

So firstly the beauty bits, I always take a concealer with me because sometimes it just wears off throughout the day so a touch up may be needed. A mini mascara is always handy to make your eyes look all pretty and they make them look bigger, which is normally flattering. Lip products, if you read my old posts or follow me on instagram you'll know i'm a lip product junkie, so i'd take a lipstick, lip gloss and definitively Vaseline, its so handy, especially in winter, my lips get dry and crack and nobody wants that.

A mini hairbrush is always a good thing to carry especially if you go gym or do p.e in the mornings, and deodorant for those reasons too, you don't wanna stankin' up the place! Hand sanitizer or hand cream, I normally have a hand sanitizer but I've ran out at the moment, but I normally buy the Soap and Glory ones, if you go on a bus or just walking around school you don't know where people hands have been and sometimes its not the most hygienic of places. I also like to have mints with me especially drinking coffee all day and you might have something a bit smelly for lunch aha. I love a minty fresh breath.

A diary, full year or academic, its always a good idea to have one, I found it helped me a lot with sorting out coursework and random homework bits that had to be handed in, so it was always on time and I could plan what nights I would just sit down and do it. Also its handy for new computer password for school/uni e-mail and logging in, I always forget. Coffee, yum yum yum. Coffee is always needed in the morning, how else would we function! I got this cute porcelain travel coffee mug off eBay, its great if your in a hurry too, you can just have your morning caffeine on the bus.

Stationary, I've always loved shopping for stationary, even in primary school, it always made me excited to go back and use my 500 different gel pens, but now I'm at University I don't need as much, I have some A4 cute notepads for taking notes in lectures, highlighters, they are always needed and a bic pen, they are my favourite pen to write with. I also picked up some page tabs which I thought would come in handy for textbooks and if you need to refer back to things.

What have you guys got for the new school season, anything I missed?

Orange and Banana Scones - Recipe

I've just had a lazy afternoon, a very English afternoon. I had tea and Scones, I made this earlier on today and just had to have a taste as soon as they had cooled down. I found the recipe in my Afternoon Tea cook book. They are very yummy and would be perfect for a little get together with the girls. I wanted to share the recipe with you so, here's how you make it:

You will need (makes approx. 12):

  • Sunflower Oil (for oiling)
  • 150g White self raising flour
  • 150g Light brown self raising flour
  • 1tsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Ground cinnamon
  • 75g Unsalted butter (diced and chilled)
  • 50g Demerara sugar
  • 150ml Milk
  • 1 Ripe banana (mashed)
  • Finely grated rind of 1 orange

  1. Pre-heat your oven to Gas mark 6/200 C/ 400 F
  2. Mix the flours, baking powder, cinnamon together in a mixing bowl.
  3. Add in the butter and rub between your finger tips until it looks like breadcrumbs.
  4. Mix in the sugar then make a little well in the middle of the mixture.
  5. Inside the well, pour in your milk, your orange rind and your mashed up banana.
  6. Mix the ingredients into a soft dough, I found at this stage I needed to add more white flour in to make it into more a doughy mixture.
  7. Roll out the dough to about 2cm thick or thicker if you would prefer.
  8. Use a cutter or the end of a glass (I used a glass) to cut out circles and place on your baking tray which is lined with greaseproof paper.
  9. Continue the sequence until you have used all your dough, make sure to leave a small space between the scones as they will rise and might mush together.
  10. Brush over the scones with some milk and place in the oven.
  11. Leave them in for 8-10 minutes, they should be slightly hard on top.
  12. Leave the scones to cool down for about 5-10 minutes.
Enjoy them with some whipped cream and strawberry jam! Also add a cup of tea to make it a very English afternoon, aha.

These are very easy to make and very tasty. I hope you like them as much as I did!

Student life, here I come...

So, I've tried since April to get a full time job and I just seem to be unemployable. Which is annoying, but I had a back up plan, I got accepted into Coventry University College for a BA (Hons) degree in management and leadership. So, I'm back to University in September I think, which is good and bad. It's bad because I was hoping to get a full-time job, move out and live with my boyfriend, Scott. But good because it gives me something to do, I get money (student loan) and I get to see my best friend Becky :) (above)

I'm really happy about how flexible my course is though, I can look for a job while I'm there and if I finish the first year I can leave to get a job and get a HNC and still have like 10 years to go back and finish my degree. There are upsides, but me and Becky are gonna be put into a class of people we don't know, ahhh. I hate meeting new people its always awkward and the lecturers make you do those weird games where you introduce yourself and crap. BLEH.

I'm thinking of finding an office I could possibly do some volunteer work in while I study, like 3 mornings a week, because I won't be starting til 2pm, so I would have some free time and could boost my experience as that is the particular area I'm lacking in.

What are your plans for the next year?

Don't sweat it....

  1. You tend to buy Ben and Jerry's ice cream more often when its on offer. It would be rude not to.
  2. You buy more lipsticks then you will ever use in a year
  3. You buy your new favourite top in all the colours available, gotta mix and match
  4. You buy that Starbucks latte with some vanilla or hazelnut syrup with your last few pounds
  5. You treat yourself for the day (or week) when you get paid
  6. As soon your newly applied nail polish starts to chip you sit and pick it all off
  7. You would rather sit in and watch TV in your pj's then go out and get drunk, you'll feel better in the morning!
  8. You get the jealously bug when your friends are doing or have something you want
  9. You delete that old friend on Facebook when they post something vile or offensive
  10. You sometimes opt for the chocolate pudding instead of fruit bowl
If you liked this post please let me know, also if you have any funny or interesting 'don't sweat it quotes' please comment them below or message them to and you will be featured in next months 'Don't sweat it' post with a link to your blog.

Thanks for reading

Pretty much all of us have become obsessed with apps, I know I have. Our phone technology has come along way, I remember sitting for hours and playing snake completely content. Now we have thousands and thousands of apps readily available at our finger tips from keeping track of menstrual cycles to shopping online. I thought I would share some of my favourite apps, the ones I use on a daily basis.

Instagram - We all love instagram and use it most days, I know I do. Its now a time where we share all our experiences and meal times with our friends and show them through this app. Some really beautiful photography is on here that I have seen, we take a photo, add an effect and its pretty pictures all around. They have also added videos in recently which has made it so much more fun.

Candy crush - I certainly have a love - hate relationship with this game. It is very very addictive and a lot of people love it. I also know a lot of people which just won't make time for it. I love this game and getting through the levels but sometimes I can be stuck on the same level for weeks! They try to rope you in to buying different moves and lives which I admit, I have fell into the trap a few times (Naughty Emily) If you don't know what it is, you have to match the same coloured candies to each other and complete the task you get for each level and you can get different move which help you win.

The Simpsonssssss, do do do do. I got this game when I first got my iPhone, literally the same day. I have been building my little Simpsons city since last September now. I go through phases of not playing it that much then get really involved with it again. I love The Simpsons, film, tv show, games, the lot. Its just awesome and I remember from when I was little I would watch it after my shower then go to bed. This game is really fun having your own little city and you can make it how you like it and visit your friends Simpson's cities as well.

Social Media - I don't know where I would be without most of these apps. I use them pretty much all day every day and love having them readily available to me on my phone. It's great having the facebook, twitter and tumblr to have a quick scroll while I'm on the bus or waiting around in a doctors office. Having the blogger app is very handy as well, I can save draft posts of ideas that pop in my head for a new blog post, which is handy if you don't have a notebook and pen to hand.

So my phone is pretty much with me 24/7. What are your favourite apps? Anything you would recommend?
