The Flawless Base

I have been using different foundations the last few months, some I liked, some I didn't. However I have gone back to my beloved Rimmel wake me up foundation. My base for putting make up now pleases me a lot and I'm not stressing because I still have a big spot you can see or uneven skin tone. So this is my perfect combination for a perfect base, I have mixed skin but more towards the dry side.

I start using miscellaneous water just to clean again after the night, moisturise and prime my skin. I currently use fix and perfect Rimmel primer. I then apply my foundation and buff it into my skin using the real techniques buffing brush, never had one of these brushes before, it so so good. I then apply concealer, I apply after because sometimes the foundation will cover up some blemishes and it isn't needed. I then apply powder if I have it, which I don't at the moment, bummer. I've found that's a perfect finish for me, I would love to know your views and if you think anything else I could try.

What's your perfect skin base products?

Revlon Colour Burst Crayons

I've been after these for a while now and I decided to pick them up on my recent payday and taking advantage of boots 3 for 2 was a certain advantage. For starters they smell amazing, like spearmint, it's awesome aha and the pigmentation is really good, I was worried they might be a bit translucent but they are so good, in love with the bright red one aha. They really help keep my lips hydrated which is a big help for me. It's been so cold and windy here in the UK lately, my lips are cracking so easily. Not fun at all.

I found the purple and red were good for a night out or to glam up a bit, the pale pink/nude was great for everyday situation. The colours I got were (red) vivacious exlinerante, (purple) whimsical fantaisste and (pink/nude) demure reservee. I highly recommend these and they are great to just keep in your bag, so easy to apply, you don't need to have a steady hand just smooth over and your done.

Have you tried the colourburst before?

My Lush Valentines Day Duo

Lush Cosmetics - Sex Bomb & Tisty Tosty - about £3 each

I know Valentines day has come and gone now, but my gorgeous boyfriend brought me these two for Valentines day as we were staying in a hotel and I could have a nice lush bath. The bottom picture was the finished result, pink with rose petals and rose buds floating around, it was really romantic and smelled amazing. The only downside was the rose buds floated around the back and tickled my back aha, it felt so weird.

These two were about £3 each which is the average price for a bath bomb from Lush. I think they were so nice, the sex bomb scent was so pretty and floral, it just smelled like lush aha, I love watching them fizz away in the bath to nothing and the awesome colours that come from that. I just wanted to share with you guys my awesome bath I had on Valentines morning, it's special to me because I don't have a bath at home, so it's a real treat for me when I do have them.

Have you tried these yet? What did you think?

The Working Girl: Daily Face Essentials

So I'm back with my second post for The Working Girl series, the next 2 or 3 may not be completely beauty based but will certainly be helpful! So today I'm talking a about getting your make up done in the morning, there has been a few incidents (waking up late) which has resulted in a rushed make up application. So when I am in a rush, I go to these 6 essential products for a nice and simple look which isn't time consuming.

So foundation, I use the stay matte Rimmel foundation as it is quite a thick consistency, I've found you don't really need to go over blemishes with concealer that much, then cream blush for a quick application, eyebrow pencil with a brush on the lid, again from Rimmel. Maybelline colour tattoo eye shadow is really quick to apply, I just use my ring finger and build up the colour on the corner of my outside lid. Finishing off with eyelash curlers and maxfactor mascara. Gives a simple and pretty look, without taking ages. Feel free to adapt to different brands and products, but i stay in this routine if I'm a bit short on time.

Got any tips for speeding up routines in the morning?

Metcalfe Skinny: My Top Guilt Free Snack*

Now, if your anything like me you love to have a cheeky snack now and then. The only problem with that is that all those calories add up, now I don't count calories, I never have. I'm leading a more healthy lifestyle this year, while bringing you guys along so I can give you little hints and tips I pick up a long the way. I still won't be counting calories as I believe this is unhealthy and you can have a fruit smoothie which is amazing for you but maybe have like 200 calories or a diet coke which has 0 calories but is still bad for your body. So anyway, on to my new go to snack, popcorn.

I've only ever really had popcorn at the cinema, I haven't thought to bring it home and keep it in the cupboards, Metcalfe skinny were kind enough to send me out a selection of their range to try. Try I did, I LOVE them, can't get over how tasty they are and still pretty low in calories and all the other stuff, its in the name 'skinny'. So if you do count calories these will be perfect for you, none of the ones I had were below 230 calories and that included my new favourite flavors, 'chocolate crackle' and 'sweet n salt'. I ended up eating my sweet and salt popcorn and then going out to buy more.

So, Metcalfe popcorn come in 'share' bags and individual bags, I would suggest getting the individual bags otherwise you may end up eating a whole big share bag to yourself, its too tasty. I am mega impressed with the different variety they have and how I don't have to feel guilty after going to grab a handful and realizing it's all gone. I am loving it while relaxing with Netflix and a magazine the best, perfect combinations! Find them at www.metcalfesskinny.com and see all the scrumptious flavors they do, there is something for everyone!

Have you tried Metcalfe Skinny's popcorn?
