Healthy & Gluten Free Strawberry Pancakes

Pancakes are my favourite, but I know they aren't the most healthy and nutritious. I have made this recipe for a while now and its sooo nice and easy to change up. Your basic pancake is just two ingredients, 2 eggs and 2 bananas. All you need to do is mash the bananas up into a lumpy paste, you will want to keep some lumps in there, gives better flavour throughout the pancake. Then you need to crack the eggs into the bananas and mix it in. For this version I added in a drop of honey to make it taste sweeter. Spoon the mixture into a frying pan with a tablespoon of oil on medium heat. while the bottom cooks place a few strawberries on the top of the mixture, then flip over after about a minute. It is super quick to cook, so its easy to have in the morning before work. After the other side has had about a minute, you're done! I have added agave maple syrup on top, enjoy!

Other variations:
Blueberries & Cinnamon
Vanilla Essence with fruit on the side
Grated apple in the mixture and sunflower seeds

Let me know if you try these pancakes or have any other variations I can try :)&

The Body Shop Base

I recently had an offer with my O2 priority moments where I could get £30 of The Body Shop products for only £15. Clearly I was going to take this opportunity, I went in to town with the sole purpose of going to The Body Shop and knowing that I was immediately going to pick up the Instant Blur Primer, I don't really use primer, they always seem quite greasy, but I have heard a lot of praise of this product from bloggers like Velvet Ghost, so I thought I would give this a try. I have also heard a lot of good reviews on the tea tree BB cream. I was a bit reluctant at first for the fact it had tea tree oil in.

I had a little talk to the staff in regards to the BB cream and was sold on this, not only does it give a nice coverage it also secretly fights blemishes which is something I do look for, I still feel blemishes cropping up, which annoys the hell out of me, to be honest. Plus with the harsh coldness coming up, I need to start looking after my skin, I still don't really have a solid skin care routine I stick to, so any recommendations are welcome! Leave them in the comments below. I feel these two products together are such a good base for me. For starters, the primer isn't greasy at all and blends really well into the skin. It gives a lovely smooth and minimal pore look. The BB cream is quite thick and you really don't need a lot when applying, especially if you are using a brush, so I can see it lasting quite a bit. It gives me the coverage I need while attacking those pesky blemishes, my skin even feels softer.

Big thumbs up. I think I will be trying to stick to this combination throughout the A/W while getting a skin routine in place I can also stick too. The BB Cream is only £8 and the Instant Blur is £14, so £22 for a pretty much flawless base, is not bad at all!

Have you tried these products?

#ManiMonday: Florals

I didn't do a #ManiMonday last week as my laptop broke, so I'm working from my iPad at the moment. I'm sick of my nails being so brittle and short lately, I invested in some OPI nail maintenance polish to help them become stronger. I wanted to try some falsies though, I've not really been impressed with impress before so I tried a different brand. I saw these beautiful florals which have a Autumn feel to them. They are Ted Baker and I picked them up from Boots for only £8. They were super easy to apply and there is a cuticle tool included which was really handy to help prepare my nails.

I buffed my nails with a nail file, pushed down my cuticles and applied them. They feel really secure and are quite short so they don't look to 'fake'. They have a rounded natural shape. I'm very impressed with these so far and hope they last about a week or longer. I will let you guys know on twitter (@drainedbeauty) how long they last.

What are your nail picks this week?

Top 10: ASOS Autumn Edit

I have always loved ASOS and on my recent browsing of the site, I found some of these must have's, which are my absolute faves from the collection. All the images are sourced from the ASOS website. Now we are coming into Autumn, as you guys must know, is my favourite season. I am always looking for Brown/Burgundy tones with some Tartan in there. Those are my go-to for A/W, the footwear is a typical chunky boot, but I do love these heels for Christmas parties and events. I'm a bit of a moaner when it comes to heels so these little midi heels are perfect for a night out with minimum pain. Another favourite of mine from the Autumn picks is the hat, I don't really wear hats because I have such a small head, but this Autumn my goal is to find a hat that suits me and this one is so pretty and such a nice colour, I will prefer if it is more 'floppy' though.

What is your favourite item from this collection?

The Sunday Post: Breakfast with the Girls

It is so important to make sure that you fit time in for your girlfriends, we always make sure we meet, have a catch up and gossip. When you're younger in school; you are surrounded by a sea of friends, sometimes you don't really have someone who you are close to, I know I didn't, but when you get older, about 20-25 age you're working, in relationships, a lot of people my age have babies and are planning weddings, it's crazy! We forget to make sure we put some time aside to just hang out with friends. I love meeting up with my girls and we went for breakfast at Costa this time, it was so yummy. We all had a toastie, I went for the beloved ham and cheese and a soy hazelnut latte. After breakfast we did some shopping, even though my bank balance was screaming at me to stop spending more money.

I'm so glad I have these two, they are always there for me and I can tell them anything, much love girlies!

What's your favourite thing to do with your best friends?

The Baby Pink Basic Look

If I'm in a can't be bothered mood, or in a rush to get to work, I try to keep to this simple make up routine, it's super quick and looks very neutral with a hint of pink, my favourite colour. So I start with the Elizabeth Arden Flawless foundation, after using a primer! If I'm in a rush I will just apply this with my hands and skip out on using the real techniques buffing brush. Then time to use some concealer, for those pesky spots, that seem to not be going away at the moment. I use the collection lasting concealer, I still can't find one I like better. My eyebrows are just filled in with the Rimmel eyebrow pencil then brushed through with the handy brush on the lid.

Time for eyes, I go for the persistently pink Maybelline colour tattoo, it's so quick and easy to apply and you can build the colour up at the crease of your eye lid to give a contoured look. Give my eyelashes some length with the YSL Mascara and a baby pink gloss on my lips with the Revlon colour burst stick in Demure. Its a handy little routine, especially as sometimes I will wake up with about 10 minutes before I need to leave to get the bus, I like my sleep and the snooze button on my alarm, aha.

So that's just my quick look to get me through the day, normally a work day.

Any products you use on a daily basis, that are gret for getting ready in a rush?

Rimmel Kate Lipticks - Autumnal Picks

I have only ever had one Rimmel Kate lipstick and I have always loved it, I kinda stopped myself buying lipsticks for a while because I have so many, but I thought I deserved to pick a few up. I picked two darker colours up as we are going into my favourite seasons A/W and darker lipsticks are always favored which go perfect alongside the smokey eye, tartan and burgundy and brown tones everyone loves in Autumn.

I have the colours 30 and 31. 31 is in the top picture of me and 30 is in the second. They are very similar but 30 has a more pink tone and 31 is more a purple tone. I do love both of them and have a feeling these two will be my best lipsticks in the next few months. Rimmel lipsticks do need a touch up throughout the day, but just pop it in your back and off you go. They are really affordable too, I picked them up for only £5.49 at boots, boots always seem to have offers on as well, so bonus.

Do you like these lipsticks? What's your favourite colour?
