Lyla Loves: Amazing £1 Necklace*

I was kindly sent this amazing necklace from Lyla Loves, this is from her £1 line, yes you heard me right, £1.The quality if the necklace is really good, it feels heavier than I expected but I associate that with good quality chain, so it won't just snap. It is a perfect Autumn piece and the red and gold remind me of the Autumn leaves. Pair this with a LBD some tights and boots and you will look fab!
I paired it with a jumper for a casual day out and it just adds a bit of glam to your outfit. (see below)

All of the other products on the Lyla Loves website are very affordable and look amazing, there are many unique pieces, that I haven't seen at other stores and highly recommend you take a sneak peak, you will end up making some purchases, I have a few more items in my sights at the moment.

Have you shopped with Lyla Loves before?

Halloween: Easy Nail Designs

It's coming up to Halloween quickly and I'm super busy at the moment, got a lot of exciting things happening and its very busy, but we all need to make time for a nice mani. What better than Halloween themed? They 're not perfect but they're Halloween themed and pretty easy for your guys to be able to do. I've had quite a few people comment on my nails, asking if they were stick on, which was pretty cool. For all the black bits, I used liquid black eye liner as I don't really want to spend loads on nail art tool and it works just as well.

Eye ball - Use white varnish base (let it dry) - Light blue circle in the middle (use dotting tool if you have one and let it dry) - use red varnish and wipe off pretty much all of the varnish and just dab lines on for the veins - Use liquid eye liner for the pupil - Let it all dry and use a gel or top coat to keep in place.

Zombie - Use a green or teal varnish base (let it dry) - Mustard or yellow colour for the eyes (use a dotting tool if you have one and let it dry) - Use liquid black eye liner for the eyebrows, pupils, scars, stitches and mouth (let it dry) - Use a gel or top coat to keep it in place.

Pumpkin - Use a pastel orange varnish for the base (let it dry) - Use a darker or fluorescent orange and do some stripes done the nail (let it dry) - Use a green just for a small line as the stem of the pumpkin at the bottom of the nail - Use black liquid liner for the eyes, nose and mouth of the pumpkin (let it all dry) - Add a gel or top coat to keep it all in place.

Ghost - Use a white varnish for the base (let it dry) - Use black eye liner for the eyes, mouth and to outline the bottom of the ghost (let it dry) - Add a gel or top coat to keep it in place.

Skull - Use a white varnish for the base (let it dry) - Use black eye liner for the eyes, nose holes and teeth (let it all dry) - Add a gel or top coat to keep it all in place.

I hope you enjoy doing these and tag me so I can see your nails! :) @drainedbeauty

I would of used a black lipstick but I didn't have one. Its just a quick and easy look if you are going to a halloween party last minute and need to put something together. Please leave a comment and let me know what you guys think & subscribe! :)

What are you guys going as for halloween? Would you like to see some more videos?

For the powder room

This is one of the naughty blogger secrets I have, I have never used foundation compact powder before, until now. I can honestly say I am in LOVE with this, I can't believe I never used it before, I always thought there was no point if you wore foundation and setting powder. How wrong I was.

I have started using the Rimmel Match Perfection powder and I think I got it for like £5 ish. I put it on after my body shop tea tree bb cream and have let it dry and settle on my skin. It gives an amazing flawless and air brushed finished, covers pretty much all blemishes, haven't had to use my concealer all week. This also has a snazzy little applicator and hidden mirror so you can touch up on the go, I find it last perfectly about half the day then its time for a quick refresh. This is deffo a most likely staple but I am tempted to now try other powders after finding my love for them. Any recommendations?

The Go To: Weekend Make Up

I always have more time to get ready on the weekend unless I am working, blah! Fortunately I have most weekends off, so here is my current go to for my make up look on the weekend, I have been obsessed with my MAC lipstick Pink Nouveau since I picked it up in London, I've also been loving the Metallic Pomegranate Maybelline Colour Tattoo, a nice Autumn shade and so easy to apply. However as I have acrylic nails at the moment I just get loads stuck underneath so I'm using my Real Techniques eye brush to apply it.

Also such a big love for Rimmel Match Perfection Powder, it gives me such a nice finish and I have a strong feeling this will end up in my staples.

Double Chocolate Brownies

Before you say anything, I know its not the healthiest, but how yummy do they look and to let you in on a little secret, they taste even better. So everyone deserves a treat in a while so me and my boyfriend decided to make some brownies, we normally go for cookies when we bake, but thought we would be adventurous. So as I know you will probably be drooling now, I will leave the recipe below for you lovely people.

You will need: 250g unsalted butter, 200g chocolate (dark or milk), Milkybar (The big one), 360g sugar, 80g cocoa powder, 65g plain flour, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, splash of vanilla extract, 3 large eggs, splash of milk if the mixture is too dry.

Recipe: Preheat your oven to 180 degrees, line your baking tin with greaseproof paper or grease with butter.

In a bowl over simmering water, melt the chocolate then add the vanilla extract and eggs then beat them till you have a silky consistency. In a separate bowl mix your flour, sugar, baking power and cocoa powder, mix these together well. Put the mixtures together and fold in until you are able to stir into a mixture. Add in your chunks from your milkybar, leave a few for the end.

Put the mixture into the tray and leave in the oven for 20-25 minutes. After 15-20 minutes check on the brownies, chop up the remaining milkybar chunks and sprinkle over the top of the brownies, then pop back in for a few minutes to just melt. When checking the brownies to see if they are done, you do want the skewer/knife to come out with mixture on them so they are gooey in the middle. You just want to check they are a bit springy and cooked on top,

Let them cool down, add a bit of ice cream or some tea and enjoy!

Let me know if you make them and tag me on twitter so I can see! @drainedbeauty

Twenty Things About Women in Their Twenties

  1. We all want to have the perfect eyebrows
  2. We start preferring a night in rather than a night out with loads of 18 yr olds (in the later 20's)
  3. We see a cute baby outfit and have a surge of broodiness take over
  4. We start to learn we need to eat more salad and less chips
  5. But we always take advantage of those 50% off pizza emails
  6. We drink way too much coffee
  7. When we rent/buy our first home, Ikea is our best friend
  8. Matching underwear makes us feel like Megan Fox
  9. There are always those girls where you want to just be them (Mainly Cara Delevingne)
  10. Obsessing with having Avocado on everything
  11. Spending more money on gym clothes than you would like to admit
  12.  Lush baths and wine are the perfect thing after a long day at work
  13. We miss school as we realise how easier it was back then
  14. Missing the 90's (Will Smith, Saved by the bell, S Club 7 and Steps)
  15. Nothing can be attempted to be done without our morning coffee
  16. We want to have a boyfriend we can settle down with, were done with all the crazy fun stuff
  17. However if we don't have a boyfriend by about 27, we will give up and get a few dozen cats
  18. We like to buy fashion magazines, but get annoyed when about 50% of it is advertisements
  19. We check twitter at least 50 times a day and stalk people
  20. Can't be bothered to make effort to look good? We just add some red lippy and look like a star
Just a few things I have realised or picked up on, as I'm getting into my twenties, even got another birthday soon! If you have anything to add, please put them in the comments :)

Topshop: Autumn Nights Out

Lots of Christmas parties coming up now, maybe some Halloween parties, going out for bonfire night, you need to make sure you look good but keep a bit warmer, so but that LBD and strappy heels in the wardrobe, time for some ankle boot heels, tights, thicker dresses and maybe even some jeans and a pretty blouse. Also keep a nice jacket/coat available, especially for bonfire night, standing in the cold watching the beautiful explosions in the sky. I chosen a few items from topshop, which I love and deffo want to pick up. My top picks would 100% be the burgundy boots and the red lace dress, so pretty and would go perfect together! Links are above in case you want to pick up any of these bits :)

Any tips for keeping warmer on a night out?

Lush Christmas Blogger Event

I was lucky enough to go to the blogger event at Lush last night, it was such a fun night and I am now obsessed with their new Christmas range. There are a lot of comebacks, which are favourites of mine. Some have come back with a twist and there are some amazing completely new ones. I am looking forward to Golden Wonder, I know it was out last year, but I never got around to trying it and have been told by many people, it is there fave, so how could I say no.
Another little cutie that has been introduced this year, is the butter bear, he smells a lot like the butter ball, but not as sweet and only £1.95 (bargain).
This cute little snowman, is made from fun, we all know the fun from lush, this is a new Christmas one, you get some white, orange and black to make your own snow man, such a clever idea! This Buche De Noel cleanser is literally a overnight favourite of mine, It was demonstrated and sampled on my hand, I could feel a such difference between the hand that had the cleanser and the hand without it, the ex-foliation in the cleanser is from almonds, so it is all natural an with the cranberries in there too, your face will smell like a cherry bakewell, who wouldn't want that?
One of the ones that stood out to me was Northern Lights, they did a little demonstration to see all the amazing colours and fizziness you get from it, they chose the colours to reflect the northern lights and this will 100% be the first bath bomb I try.
As I am unlucky I only have a shower at home, so have all my baths at my boyfriends, they have some shower gels, old and new. The one I am obsessed with was Hot Toddy, it was all of my favourite scents in one and also my favourite Christmas scents.  It's like cinnamon, orange and spicy scent, oh my its amazing, you all need to go have a whiff. I forgot to pick it up, silly me, so to my surprise it was included as a little freebie from the event along with the Santa lip scrub and Holly bubble bar.
I got to meet some other bloggers which was so nice, seen as I didn't know we had any near Coventry. Also a massive thumbs up to Katie (I think that was her name) in the bottom picture, she was so helpful and lovely. Also gave me like a little hand massage when I was sampling the products and having a little pamper, it was so relaxing! You all need to go and check out the new Christmas range!

Have you tried anything from the Christmas range yet?
