The Smell of Christmas*

There is nothing quite like evenings in when it starts to get a bit colder outside. We put away the party dresses, get out our sweats and PJ's and enjoy evenings in with films, hot drinks and cuddles under the blanket, whether it is with your family, best friend or loved one. For me a major part of these evenings in is a candle or Yankee wax tart. It makes the whole room smell amazing and a lot like Christmas with all the new and old favourite scents.

Candles make the room so cosy and its perfect when its cold and snowy outside, my favourite scent in winter is cinnamon, spiced orange and all the warming smells. So my favourite wax tarts are Icicles and Candy Cane Land, the wax tarts are very much worth the money, they can last quite a few burns and  with the pool of wax in the burner it fills the room with the amazing aroma of the yankee wax tarts. After you have the burner and the wax tarts all you need is tea lights which you can get very cheap.

Yankee direct have such an amazing variety of burners which can suit any home and you can even get Christmas themed ones for the festive season (here). They also have a wide range of wax tarts which are from as little as £1.20 which you can get (here).

What is your favourite Yankee scent for Christmas time?

#dbbloggermeetup: Meeting other bloggers & hosting my first blogger event

(The amazing staff at Lush Coventry who hosted the event with me and was so helpful at the event)
(Miss Shannon Marie making a bath bomb at Lush)
(Shannon Stacey making a bath bomb at lush)
(Me and the lovely Sophie Etc)
(Me and Amy PYT)
(Me with Shannon and Melissa with her house mate)

I will be posting a few different posts about my meet up #dbbloggermeetup, they will be about different aspects of the meet up so I hope you enjoy :)

This post is about socialising and meeting other bloggers. I feel the blogging community is such an amazing and supportive group, you can start talking to someone and instantly feel like you're friends. Going to events like this is such a good way to promote your blog, swap a few tips and make new friends. I met a few people I'd been speaking to online and a few new people which was lovely to get to know you all.

It was such a lovely atmosphere at the meet up, people were mingling with each other and I hope made some new friends. I think meet ups are an important part of a bloggers lifestyle, it gives you so many more opportunities, you can collaborate with other bloggers, or maybe even a video if you are on YouTube. You can make new friends and it's great because you will already have stuff in common from blogging.

I find instagram and twitter is the best way to look out for blogger meet ups, you can search meet ups and sometimes companies post blog meet ups, so whatever you are interested in, beauty or fashion, like a few of the pages for them so you don't miss out! Meet ups are also a great way for bloggers and brands to interact, it gives brands the option to help promote there brand and get a few dozen reviews from bloggers to help share their products. If you live in Coventry or the surrounding area, like the facebook page drainedbeauty blogger meet ups or email me at drainedbeauty@gmail.com to be put on my guestlist for the next one!

Have you been to any meet ups lately? What did you enjoy the most?

Sass & Belle*

I have these two little things, that I got recently from Sass and Belle, they are the cutest, handy tools for a relaxing evening in, cookies, hot chocolate then snuggle on the sofa or in bed and watch a film. Not going to lie, receiving having this cookie cutter made me so happy! The amazing Sass and Belle even send a little cookie recipe with the cookie cutter! I made them straight away, they were so nice, even had a little dip in my hot chocolate.

Even though I am not moving for about a year, I am still looking around for home decor bits and pieces. I discovered Sass & Belle a few months ago and have been obsessed since. It is so perfect for getting those finishing touches to make a house your home. Below the picture is from the website, you can see how amazing there range is.

I'm 100% after the fox cushion and the frame set! Have you shopped at Sass and Belle? It's the perfect shop to find something for yourself or any woman in your life, mother, sister, best friend or the love of your life!

Hope you love the products as much as me
