2015: A Review

This year has been pretty awesome to be honest. Obviously there has been some ups and downs but there always will be. It's how you bring yourself back from it. I made some progress with my blog, moved in with my boyfriend and started on my health journey.

This year in numbers:

288 - Instagram posts this year
34 - Number of Countries that have visited my blog this year
2000 - Average page views per month this year
9 - Pounds I've lost in December since starting my healthy journey
1 - Times I went on holiday (in the UK, but I moved out so money was put there)

Top Highlights in 2015:

- Moving in with my boyfriend
- Reaching two of my blogging goals, reaching 1.5k on bloglovin' & twitter
- Started to do fashion posts and getting some confidence back
- When I started to see the numbers on the scales go down as I start to lose weight
- Getting the beautiful Canon 1200D for Christmas to up my photography game in 2016
- Seeing the new Starwars Movie, Spy and Trainwreck. Favourites for this year. Melissa McCarthy is my bae.

2015 Discoveries:

- Justin Bieber, yep, I listened to 'Sorry' an unhealthy amount of times. I might be a belieber.
- Avocado's, I hated them before, they were certainly the vegetable of 2015. On toast with poached egg, perfection.
- Cycling, I hadn't really been on a actual moving bike since I was about 15, but me and Scott starting going on bike rides around the park and stuff this year. Great exercise and I really enjoyed it.

Blog things I want to start to do in 2016:

- Fashion, I want to delve into the fashion world a bit more, do some outfit posts and all that.
-  Vlogging, I know its not really blogging, but I'm thinking of doing a few weekly vlogs.
- Layout, I want to change up the layout again throughout the year, I'm already getting bored of this one.
- Updates, I want to share my weight loss, updates, tips and journey. I will share my struggles and be brutally honest about how I'm doing. I think this will motivate me more.

I also would love to know what you guys want to see more of in 2016, food, lifestyle, home, fashion or beauty? Let me know in the comments below.

All The Best Tips For Spoiling Yourself With New Jewellery

Every girl needs her frosting - aka her jewellery, so if your dressing table is lacking a few beautiful pieces, now is the time to invest. When it comes to looking good, many of us make the mistake of not thinking about jewellery. We invest in new bags, coats, scarves, and clothes, but fail to treat ourselves to a new necklace or earrings. Thinking of spoiling yourself with some new pieces - then make sure to keep reading for everything that you need to know. Here I have all the best tips for picking out the perfect pieces that you’ll love for many years to come.

Think about what you want

Many of us make the mistake of rushing into buying jewellery, picking up a few random pieces and buying them. However, it’s important not to rush things and take your time when choosing the perfect designs. There’s no point investing in something that you won’t wear is there?

It’s important to think about your likes and dislikes when it comes to choosing jewellery. Think about your sense of style and the types of pieces that you like. You may not realise it, but your fashion sense has a big impact on the type of jewellery that you prefer. Ask yourself, are you a classic or contemporary dresser? This is important as it will impact whether you prefer to wear a string of pearls or a necklace that’s a little more eye-catching.

Ask yourself whether you’re a silver, gold or rose gold type of girl

A Few Things To Do Before Christmas Day

Everyone is getting excited and looking forward to that gorgeously filling Christmas dinner. People are having a bit too much mulled wine, wearing over the top christmas jumpers and are being merry and before you know it, the christmas period will be over. Here is a few ideas to make the most of your time and some things I certainly will be doing.

Movie Night
This is the best time to have a movie night, no work or school tomorrow to wake up for. Christmas films are the ideal choice, my top 5 are Arthur Christmas, Elf, The Grinch, Home Alone and Home Alone 2. Whats your favourite? I need new Christmas films to watch. Elf was my all time favourite but Arthur Christmas over took it last year. It's just the best heart warming film.

Baking Afternoon
An afternoon doing some Christmas baking? Theres nothing more festive. The house will have those gorgeous cinnamon and chocolate smells and you can totally pig out. A good idea is to make extra and give them as little extra presents on Christmas day. It's much more sentimental and it's nice you took time to make something for your loved ones. Gingerbread men, christmas tree cookies or the classic christmas pudding, make whatever you want.

Help Someone In Need
I've seen quite a few adverts and Facebook posts of people helping other with less. Not just throwing money at a charity but it could be someone on your street, someone you know who is going through a bad time. Go out, spend £15-£20 on some shopping Christmas bits and leave it at there door.

What do you like to do in the run up to Christmas?

The Best Hot Chocolate

The countdown is getting all to exciting now, 4 days till Christmas! Most people have finished work, kids have finished school and everyone is getting into the festive mood. One of my most favourite things to do this time of year is snuggle up on the sofa with a hot chocolate and watch a film. Normally a festive film, but sometimes it might just be Geordie shore.

This is my all out hot chocolate. I won't have this every time because well, calories. Measure out your milk in the mug you are going to use and then put it in a saucepan on a medium heat Add in some dairy milk or which ever you prefer, I used half of a large bar. Leave to bubble away for a few minutes before serving.

After this has melted into the milk, add in some hazelnut syrup and pour into your mug. Pop in a candy cane, add some whipped cream and then chocolate sauce on top. Perfection in a mug. Really simple and so tasty.

My other favourite hot chocolates this season is Costa's black forest hot chocolate and Starbucks honey and almond hot chocolate. They are perfection, but too expensive to have all the time.

What is your favourite festive drink?

Quick & Easy Christmas Nails

Only 5 days till Christmas, I know I haven't really been blogging much but as I mentioned in my last post I have no energy at the moment. I'm feeling a bit better but the doctors have signed me off work for another week. I guess I can get some blogging done though!

So anyway, here is a quick and easy nail design that doesn't take much skill. You just need a dotting tool, something to put some nail varnish on (I used an old tupperware lid) and some nail varnish! Colours; white, green, orange, black and clear. Also I had little nail gems for the stars but if you don't have any a glitter polish will do fine.

So firstly just get some of the white nail polish put it on your plate or whatever you use. Use the dotting tool to give a snowy floor on the top of your nail. doesn't need to be straight. Snow never is! When you do this, also add in two circles for a snowman on one nail. Then just randomly dot snowflakes around the rest of the clear part of your nail.

Next get your green polish, again with the dotting tool, make a triangle on the other nails the snowman is not on. Add in the star/glitter polish at the top of the tree then some details on the snowman. Finally let it dry and add a clear layer over the top!

Simples, would love to know what other festive nails you are doing at the moment, let me know in the comments below. Hope you all have a lovely Christmas!

Let's have a catch up

I know, I know, I've been MIA again. I've been super poorly and hardly had energy to open my macbook, let alone done some posts. I've had some crazy chest infection which has in turn made my asthma and rhinitis go crazy. I ended up at the walk in centre at about 1am because I was coughing so hard I was being sick. Not been a fun few days.

I've been a bit of a crap blogger this year, on and off. But come on guys, I've had a tough year, plus working full time. I unfortunately can't blog full time, one day though. That's the dream. I do have a plan for the new year which I'm going to try to stick to. I'm going to post every other day, thinking Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.

Also next year I'm on a major weight loss plan. I need to be healthy for quite a few reasons and having that confidence will help me then move onto the platform of youtube. We shall see, no promises.

I will be doing a more in depth post soon with my new years resolutions, so keep an eye out. I would love to hear about what you guys are planning to do as well next year, anything big or even small. Lets have a chat about it!

Must-Have Fashion Accessories For This Winter*

The winter is here and this season’s fashion is hotting up. Keeping warm is essential when the weather is awful. But there is absolutely no need to sacrifice style. As you know, I love my jumpers but they have to look really good. This season is definitely the one to wear some of the most gorgeous jumpers out there at the moment. So how can you accessorise a really good jumper?

I love putting long necklace accessories with my jumper. It doesn’t matter whether you have an overcoat or not, you can still add some extra styling to personalise your outfit. Jewellery is definitely the way to go this season. You can choose elaborate designs or simple pendant chic. Aim for the longer lengths when you’re wearing jumpers. It’s good to have some extra interest around your middle.

There are also some beautiful belt chains available to help give some cinch to your waist. Even though they don’t pull anything in, their off-centre shape helps give the illusion of a tiny waist. They can be a little fragile though so take care when putting on or taking off your coat. Many of this season’s coats have a similar belt motif in their design. Nothing puffy for this season! Sculpted and elegant are the designs that will win through.

Another must-have accessory for winter time is the scarf. At this time of year, you can find plenty of chunky woollen scarves to keep you warm. Those with a ruffle design or intricate ornaments look amazing with a big winter jacket. You might consider a matching set with coordinated gloves and beret. Even in the office, a light scarf can take that chill off your neck and make a great statement as part of your work outfit.

I love wearing jewellery. I think it’s a great way to add a little glamour to your outfit. Earrings are wonderful for framing the face and adding something a little shiny. I love that you can choose clip-on jewellery for even more variety when it comes to earrings. You can get every shape and style. And clip-ons are so comfortable to wear and easy to swap from day to night! I’m loving drop earrings for winter as I’m wearing my hair down more often.

I love rings on my fingers for the same reason. We talk and gesture a lot with our hands so it’s nice to accessorise the fingers with something so pretty. A good polish and a couple of rings go a long way to making you feel like your look is complete. Add a gorgeous watch or some bangle bracelets and you are ready to go. If it’s the party season, you could even wear silver or gold for extra chic and glamour in your party dress.

This season can be as glamorous as any other when you accessorise well. You may be layering up, but that doesn’t mean you can’t maximise the extras that go with your outfit. Look gorgeous this season, no matter what the weather delivers!

December Goals

December, the last month of the year and the month I can try to redeem myself and kick into high gear some of the stuff I've wanted to do this year. And well basically haven't. A lot of stuff has happened this year. I don't mind sharing it with you guys as I love you all. I've moved out of my home, my grandma has been really really ill. My mum got diagnosed with cancer and I recently got diagnosed with Anxiety. It's been up and down but the highlight of my year has 100% been moving in with Scott. It's so nice to have our own place and independence. I could just do with like a personal chef, maid and butler. A girl can dream! Anyway heres a few things I want to try to focus on this month.

01// Keep my motivation to get fit. It may just be the pre new-year health craze kicking in a month early, but I feel this year I really strayed health wise. So many things got in the way and almost prevented me going to the gym or taking time out to cook a healthy dinner. Me and Scott live together now, it's amazing. So I'm going to work out, I've re-signed up to the gym and try to eat as healthy as humanly possible during the mince pie, sweet's everywhere season.

02// Having me time and we time. I've been super stressed out lately and my anxiety has gone into overdrive. It may be to do with all the things being brought up by doctors and all that. I start therapy next week, scary! So I really want to take some time out and just relax as well as have some date nights with Scott. Christmas films, treats and snuggles on the sofa sound like heaven. Not to mention finally finishing Charlotte Crosby's book me, me, me. She is hilarious.

03// Reading time. I have brought so many beautiful books and ones I really want to get stuck into. I just haven't been able to with my mind elsewhere and found it hard to really get into one. I have found a few I want to read and any recommendations are welcome. I like to great unrecognised books, I'm not really fussed about the mainstream/popular/everyone has them books. I want to try to finish two by the end of the month.

04// Prepare for Beautral launch. Beautral is my online magazine I am hoping to launch in January. Timing is key here and I already have some amazing contributing authors and anyone else interested please let me know! (infobeautral@gmail.com) It will be focused on health/fitness/beauty and natural ways to look after yourself inside and out! Follow it on instagram and twitter @beautralmag to keep up to date. I would really appreciate it!

What do you guys want to do this month?

My Favourite Place This Winter*

 (Source)

As the colder weather sweeps over us, the blankets come out, the heating comes on and our beds get harder and harder to leave in the morning. You know that feeling, being so snug and warm, the thought of even getting out sends a shiver over you. Some evenings in winter, nothing I love more is to relax in bed.

Not just for sleeping, but get a hot chocolate, get snug under the covers, maybe even with a loved one to watch a film with. You could even just relax with a book. With Christmas time and new seasons comes new bedding. One of the best feelings is getting into a freshly made bed with new sheets. These are high on my shopping list, in the picture above. I love the not so in your face christmas design. Chic, almost. You can get them here. They even have £20 off at the moment at Yorkshire Linen, will be getting them while I can!. There is loads more christmas designs and beautiful florals ones, go have a peek.

A few winter evening essentials:
  • Hot Chocolate
  • Hot Water Bottle
  • A good book/film
  • A naughty treat like mince pies or sweeties!
  • Extra blankets! I love having a throw over my quilt for extra warmth. My favourite place to get throws and blankets is Primark, cheap and beautiful designs. (keeps the heating bills down too!)

Where's your favourite place to relax in winter?

5 Things To Be More Productive

Now we all need a little motivation to get things done these days. In the age of technology and everything readily available on your phone, you can pass time by without realising it. I know many times, I've been sitting on my phone, flipping between twitter, Facebook and Instagram. All of a sudden it's like 3 hours later. Boxsets and Netflix are even worse, I could sit there all day. Just one more episode, who needs sleep anyway right?

Below are a few things I put in motion to make myself do more. I even did it today, got all my chores done and now time to sit, relax and write this post. It's even better when you don't have a million things running through you mind, thinking you need to do this and that.

01// Wake Up Earlier

Wake up 1 hour earlier and don't hit snooze! Sometimes I will wake up one hour and make it the most productive so I've done things before my brain even catches up with me to say 'Go back to bed!'. You can do a lot in an hour, which you really wouldn't realise, say you get up at 7am instead of 8am:

7:00 - 7:10 Look on your phone, catch up on Facebook/Twitter/Instagram
7:10 - 7:20 Quick 10 minute Yoga session, pop a sports bra on, you can stay in your PJ's
7:20 - 7:35 Shower for 10 mins, towel off.
7:35 - 7:45 Get dressed (quicker if you plan your outfit the night before)
7:45 - 8:00 Make a healthy breakfast (Mashed Avocado on Wholemeal toast) Eat it and write a list of 5 things you want/need to do today in priority order.

Look at all you can achieve in short bursts rather than snoozing, live an hour longer!

Love Makeup? A Job In Makeup Art Could Be Perfect For You!*

As you will know if you follow my blog on a regular basis, I am mad about makeup. I love experimenting with new looks, trying out different products and sharing the results. If, like me, you are a massive makeup addict, perhaps the beauty industry is your calling.

When it comes to beauty, many of us think that makeup is destined to be just a hobby. However, that’s not necessarily the case. If you are a makeup pro and have a passion for learning new skills, a job that allows you to work with makeup could be perfect.

If you love makeup, what jobs can you do? To give you all the information that you need to know about working in makeup, I thought I would share my knowledge with you.

Sunday Summary #14

Sunday already, this week has gone so quick I feel like I hardly did anything. Although I know I was super busy. I was at work on all different shifts which was all over the place but how I needed it. Some days I was on 8am-4pm, some days I was on 12pm to 8pm. Craziness. However, as I said I needed the different shifts as I had some meetings and things going on.

One of them was that I am an ambassador for Ikea for the #LiveLAGOM project. This project is all about living a more sustainable life but having a balance. The main thing I want to work towards is less waste. I probably throw away a lot more food than I'd like to. It's a waste of money and not good for the earth. We shall see how it goes with the project and support from the lovely people working with me.

Lush Christmas Must Haves

What is winter if not, a hot bubbly, beautifully smelling bath. Lush bring out the most beautiful and sought after products. From bubble bars, bath bombs and my favourite, the lip scrubs. If you hadn't known I recently moved into my own place. I lived at home before and we had to have a shower in like a wet room. We couldn't have a bath installed because my mum is disabled and she would just struggle too much. So, now I'm in my own place with scott and we have a bath. It was a must have when we went looking at flats.

Smoke & Berries

New season means new make up, everyone knows that. Right? Well I brought stuff anyway. I've started to go towards warmer tones reds, burgundys and orange, clothes wise.

So I couldn't start the upcoming months without some new pretty Autumn-esque make up. I've been loving a smokey eye lately with or without some eyeliner.  I use Mac Sable eyeshadow for the base and Embark to contour the crease.

I've also been admiring the Sleek Pink Lemonade blush palette because you have a little bit of everything. You get a cream blush and 2 powder ones. They are beautiful and highly pigmented so you don't need a lot on the brush. For this look though, I used the darker one on the end and it gave a slight contour effect on my cheeks.

This whole Instagram thing

Essena O'Neill is the instagrammer, everyone seems to be talking about right now. She posted a 17 minute long emotional video about how she has skipped meals and spent hours trying to get that one perfect instagram picture. She couldn't do it anymore and has now apparently deleted all her accounts.

Some people say she's doing this for attention, some people say she's doing this as a publicity move. I do feel sorry for her if this has caused her all this upset. I just want to put it out there, that not all instagrammer/bloggers do this.

The worst company I've ever dealt with before.

Now, I'm not one to b**ch and moan about companies, but seriously hands down this is the worst experience I've ever had. I work in a contact centre with mortgages, I know it's not the same company line but surely it should have the same principles. You don't even have to read this but I hope someone from Very does. I just need to vent.

It all started a month ago I couldn't log into my account, a simple problem, you would think. In the space of the first week, I had called there call centre at least 10 times, advisors were fobbing me off, hung up on me and refused to put me through to a manager, when I got to speak to one, the manager said he will send something to the tech team. So I thought, phew, it will be sorted soon.

A week later still nothing. I called back up and to my surprise

Cosy Jumpers & Crisp Air

It's getting a lot colder now, which means it's time to get out the jumpers. Or just buy some, like me. Jumpers  and leggings are my comfort items. I practically live in them in the colder season. Despite comfort I still like to look stylish and feel good about myself. The orange tones are so Autumn-esque, along side some comfy ankle boots.

Sunday Summary #13

This has been a pretty good week, I've been pretty busy to be honest. I've been working loads and all different shifts, early, lates plus extra overtime. Gotta make a living! On Saturday me and Scott went to see Spectre, it's such a good bond film, my favourite is still skyfall, but this was a close. Would highly recommend going to see it, if not for just going to see the lovely Daniel Craig.

I've got some new beauty bits and some new clothes which will soon feature on my blog. I've done my first fashion post and my boyfriend did the photos so I'm excited to post that tomorrow. I've always been kinda nervous to do fashion posts because I'm big. But I'm getting my confidence back. I am still gonna lose weight and be healthy but I'm not gonna hate myself how I am now. I will enjoy my body, myself and look damn good doing what I do.

Keep an eye out for posts next week, how's your week been?

Those Autumnal Vibes

My favourite season is upon us, that cold crisp air, feel snug in a sweater time. I don't know why but Autumn has always been my favourite time of year, most people I know prefer summer, but I hate being too hot. It's so much easier to wrap up and get warm than it is to cool down. Halloween is one of the best holidays and a good excuse to watch scary movies.

Sunday Summary #12

This week has been pretty good, I had 4 days off work and was quite productive, which I'm proud of. Although one day was relaxing watching walking dead all day. It was Scott's (my boyfriend) birthday on Friday so I got balloons and made it special, took him for dinner and a movie. We saw the last witch hunter, it was really good, but its a Vin Diesel movie so it's bound to be good. I'd highly recommend going to see it.

I'm feeling very seasonal lately, Autumn is my favourite time of year, hot chocolate, crispy leaves, snuggly jumpers, cold weather. Not to mention I love halloween, I'm not a fan of paranormal films but gore doesn't bother me so I love films like Saw and The Purge. Paranormal activity on the other hand, can do one.

Despite the picture of the burger, I have been really healthy this week, we had a burger as a treat for his birthday, it was totally worth it as a cheat meal. Pulled pork and aberdeen angus burgers, yum yum.

4 Things You Need To Do For An Easier Christmas*

It may only be October, but you can be sure that plenty of people are already getting into the Christmas spirit. And why wouldn't they be? The biggest day of the year takes an awful lot of planning - and it's not just buying presents you need to worry about. How are you going to plan your attack on the Christmas dinner? Will you remember not to miss anyone off your Christmas card list? And which ugly sweater are you going to adorn yourself proudly in this year?

Should You Get Semi Permanent Makeup?*

A few months ago, semi permanent makeup was tipped to be the next big thing in the beauty industry. When I first heard about it, however, I couldn’t make up my mind as to whether I would be willing to have it done. (I’m not the biggest fan of needles - especially being injected into my face.)

The main issue for me was the fact that I love experimenting with different looks and wouldn’t want it to affect my ability to do that. I have since found out that it wouldn’t affect this, as you can choose exactly how much makeup you want to be tattooed. You can opt for a simple look or something more elaborate, it’s completely, up to you.

#SundaySummary #11

This week has been really relaxed and something I've really needed. Moving house stressed me out so much and started up my anxiety attacks again. They have started to settle and I'm feeling more at home now. I have 2 more boxes to sort out and then I'm finished! Woo. Moving house has been so much work but so worth it, living with my boyfriend is so nice and I feel like I have freedom and independance.

I've had the week off work so I managed to get a lot of house stuff done and started some prep for my online store to launch in the next month or two. I've been doing some designs for pocket mirror and will venture onto phone cases eventually. I've also been doing some jewellery. I made jewellery before on an online shop I had, which I loved doing.

So, I felt like I wanted to start it up again. It will be called deebee. You can find the pages on instagram and twitter under @shopdeebee and on facebook at facebook.com/shopdeebee. Go and have a like and give it some love.

I'm so glad I'm starting to feel better now and getting back into blogging. I missed it loads and have already done 5 posts this week, on a roll! Like a sushi roll, but less tasty.

Autumnal make up look

Autumn is finally here, I couldn't be happier. It is my favourite time of the year. Crunchy leaves, cold mornings, hot chocolate, halloween, jumpers, scarves, boots, christmas presents and basically everything else related to this lovely season.

The other thing I love about Autumn is those beautiful berry tone lipsticks. I've really been loving Kate by Rimmel London, No 30.

My base is concealer applied with the real techniques sponge and some super stay 24 face powder. I've gone off having foundation at the moment, it's really improving my skin and stopping breakouts. Also one less thing to buy so saving some pennies. I find I still have amazing coverage is it last pretty much all day. Possibly a touch up needed but just chuck that powder in your bag.

I've been using the Rimmel brow this way and blush in Pink Rose. The pink rose is a perfect colour for autumn and also slightly contours the cheeks. Keeps you looking fresh faced.

On the eyes I've gone for a simply smokey look with MAC's Sable eyeshadow for the base and Embark to contour. Again Rimmel, I love that brand for the eyeliner, scandaleyes. So easy to apply, just like using a felt tip. My recent mascara purchase was from Maybelline, the waterproof Sensational. It is amazing, makes my lashes super long, even without a curler. So in love with this and would 100% recommend you having a go.

What is your favourite product in Autumn?
