A Catch Up

Apologies, again. I know I've been a bit MIA lately. I've had more training at work so I deal with mortgage applications now and I've been writing for the Coventry Telegraph once a week, you can see my posts through the link on the right side bar. So I've been quite busy but I am a bit blah as my room is a mess and we all know that a tidy house is a tidy mind. Or something like that.

So I'm in a very motivational mood the last week and I'm gonna start setting myself deadlines and goals. I'm going to get back into exercise and yoga, keep up to date with blogging and have some me time, to relax. I have a few exciting things coming up this next month and will be working my butt off aha. I'd love to know what you guys have all been up to and what posts you will like to see from me? I'm also wanting to still move over to YouTube but don't have the confidence yet, but I really would love too at some point. I know this post is short and sweet but I will be doing loads more and more often!

Love you guys

Wish List | Zara Home

As some of you may know, I am looking to move out at the end of this year. With this in mind, homeware is better than shopping for clothes and make up sometimes. Especially with places like Zara Home, I love their fashion and have about 5 Zara bags but I can't get over how classic and elegant the homeware stuff is.

I really love the grey and neutral tones as you can probably tell, I will be going for white, black and grey, then just some pops of colours scattered around. I already have quite a bit of kitchen stuff but this bowl looks so nice for a cereal bowl or to put some snacks in for guests. I am really in love with the glass mugs too, they are perfect for home made smoothies and lets not lie, they look great in photos. In the living room, I'm looking for miss match cushions that kind of go together but are all different, including this deer one, deer are one of my favourite animal, who wouldn't want one on their sofa? Then this lush faux fur throw to have over the sofa all ready to snuggle up in at night and watch a movie.

If you know more places similar, maybe a bit cheaper, send the links my way! Are you guys moving out soon? Re-decorating?

MAC Haul

The eye shadows, the blush, the lipsticks. MAC, we love it all. I recently went to Birmingham with Scott and my number one priority was to go to MAC and get some eye shadows for my palette I'm building up. As expected it was packed full of people so I went back again and again, but the queue was just too much. In the end I gave up and went for the on line shop, which always seems to end up with my buying more than planned. As you can expect from the pictures.

So I picked up or clicked on these two lovely eye shadows, 'Cranberry' and 'Paradisco', I thought they would go so well together with 'Paradisco' on the lid and 'Cranberry' to contour the eye. Alternatively 'Cranberry' on the full lid with a dark brown for a contour. MAC eye shadows are really great quality. The formula is amazing and it is so pigmented so you only need a small amount for great colour. I then had a little browse of the blushers and couldn't resist 'Whole Lotta Love'. It is a lovely Matte bright pink and will be perfect for summer, when it eventually comes. It still looks amazing in the winter though, gives my pale face that bit of colour it needs.

I've heard so much about how great MAC brushes and thought I would try them out, I got a MAC 217 brush, yes, it is my first MAC brush! Don't make fun! I use this as a contour brush for my eye shadows, it blends so well and makes the colours melt into each other giving my look a more professional finish. I'm very pleased with this brush and will look at getting some more MAC brushes, any suggestions are welcome :)

As you can see in the top picture, there is a tiny little MAC tube. I think this was a Christmas offer, but I got a free tester of the MAC mascara (False lashes extreme black). I am 100% picking this up in full size. It is so good for volume and thicker lashes, but it still gives a natural look. No clumping.

I loved my little MAC splurge, have you got anything from MAC lately?

Wishlist | Fashion Picks for 2015

A new year is upon us and that means new fashion seasons, fashion weeks and trying to make a statement with our outfits. No matter what, when we leave the house what we wear shows who we are, if we are all dolled up, it may show you are facing the day head on, you may want to impress someone or maybe you just love to feel pretty. If we go out in maybe a big hoodie and some vans or converse, we could be showing we feel like we need a day to feel snug and comfortable or maybe we just didn't have enough time to get dolled up.

With the new year, I have given myself a fashion goal of learning to walk in heels, I will of course start out with smaller heels or boot heels, I feel that they will give me more stability. Hopefully as I lose weight and become stronger my balance will increase which should assist. So, one of my first goals on my pay day in January is to buy some heeled boots and these brown and black ones look amazing. I am more swayed to the black ones as I feel they can go with a lot more outfits and have a slight casual look to them. I am also after a new pair of converse throughout this year, I have worn my last ones out and holes are starting to emerge.

In other fashion news for me, I am looking to lose weight this year and keep it off, I don't want to find it again. So I will be looking at just buying a few nice t-shirts maybe a dress if an occasion appears. But I am hoping I can stick to my new health and fitness routine and drop a few dress sizes. Which will mean a whole wardrobe refurb, so no point buying lots of clothes if they will no longer fit. I love everything above and I'm hoping to have them by the end of the year, I completed my last years wishlist, so game on!

Is there anything you really want to get this year?

I'm back, baby.

I took an unexpected break over Christmas, New Year & my birthday, I spent time with my family, friends and the lovely boyfriend of course. I did plan to do some blogging, but I was having a relax and spending some time with the loved ones. As we are all starting a new chapter in our lives, it is important to me, to make 2015 the year of preparation. We all have our new years resolutions, lose weight, read more, save some money. It all varies and we use January 1st as a refresh, to try again. A lot of people moan about the new year, new you stuff. But if you want to make a change in your life and you procrastinate for a living, you might need to arrival of a new year to motivate you.

A lot can happen in a year and you don't really realise until you reflect. This year for me, as I said is for preparation. Me and my boyfriend are going to move in together and we are using 2015 as our year to save everything we have and buy our very own house. I will be working on growing my blog more and also carry on writing for The Coventry Telegraph, so I will need to be super organised to fit it all in.

I also have a sneaky little project I'm planning. I am looking at setting up my very own online shop. (Again) I used to have one and it did really well, but I couldn't manage it when I had University and two jobs. So, I am hopefully setting that up again. I will be doing phone cases, mugs and notebooks with my designs on, as well as some hand made jewellery. When I set up I will be looking for bloggers to work with so if you would be interested, email me at Thats the name, Lovely You Hoo. I thought it was catchy.

So Goals for 2015:

  • Save money for house
  • Reduce Overdraft
  • Open  Lovely You Hoo
  • Get Fit & Lose Weight

What are your goals and dreams for 2015?
