National Stationery Week*

It's National Stationery Week and I am loving it. As a blogger, I use all different kinds of stationery on a daily basis. It helps me keep organised between my normal full time job, blogging, managing deebee and actually having time for myself and house work.

One of my favourite memories of school was getting to choose loads of new stationery and feel really excited to use it all. I always have a little notebook in my bag like this Nu A7 jotter pad. It's perfect to jot down ideas for blog posts when you're out and about. I can get ideas from anywhere so it's really handy. I also love the Stadler colour pens. Perfect to colour co-ordinate your to do list. I put them into housework, blogging and deebee work.
Not only do I love stationery for work and blogging I also love it for down time as well. I suffer from anxiety and stress and the therapy colouring books are a lifesaver. The Stadler colouring pencils are great quality and great colour to bring my art to life! Life now is very technical and it's nice to have a break from the screens.

What do you use your stationery for? Let me know in the comments below.

Sunday Summary #16

Sunday Summary is back! I don't know why I haven't done it in a while. I've been working A LOT as well as a lot of weekends, so I've not had much to talk about. But I think even a short post to update you guys would be worth it. I'll be making a bit more effort to keep up with these. I love writing these types of posts. I'm currently on the sofa surrounded by a big fluffy grey blanket with my hot water bottle, making my woman time feel a bit better. Alongside my coffee fix for the morning and some background shooting noises from Scott playing Destiny.

This week has been good but longggg. I ended up agreeing to eleven hours overtime at work, no idea why but payday will thank me. I've been focusing on my little shop deebee and doing giveaways on twitter. I've made all this jewellery myself and I love it. I'd always make something I would wear myself. I have been MIA on the blogging front, work and jewellery is the reason. But i've really missed it and could feel my anxiety getting bad, writing my thoughts, feelings and nonsense on here is so therapeutic and I'm glad to be back, I've fully prepared about 5 posts now, to go up over the next week or two.

Spring has sprung, there is the smell of freshly cut grass, flowers everywhere, lighter evenings and increased sneezing and inflammation in my airways from Rhinitis (really bad hay fever, but all year round). It tends to get worse at this particular time for obvious reasons, but it's still beautiful, so I'll just have to have the sniffles and deal with it like a strong independent woman.

If you hadn't noticed from my last post, I've joined Slimming World. I've took the plunge and control of my weight loss. In the first 5 weeks, I'd lost a stone, got a bit of my confidence back and felt good. The last week I've not been very good and probably put 2lb back on. However, I'll take the hit and get back on plan, I'm sure I can lose that weight by my next weigh in on Wednesday. If you would like to see some Slimming world friendly recipes and posts, let me know in the comments below!

How's your week and Sunday been?

Lazy Girl Guide | Slimming World Syn Free Breakfast

Like most other women I'm on the road to lose some weight. For my health and some other personal reasons. It's not an easy journey there are personal issues, physical issues that can prevent and hinder anyones weight loss journey. You never know what people are going through. Sometimes we have lazy days and somedays we just can't be bothered. This is a simple quick go to breakfast which is also super tasty.

Muller Light Yoghurts are syn free, break up a cereal bar that you can have as your healthy extra B as a topper. Pair with some Strawberries for some Speed food and blueberries for a burst of those nutrients and vitamins you need. I also have a coffee most mornings, use sweetner instead of sugar and the milk from your healthy extra A. There you have a syn free breakfast. Great for a Saturday morning.

What's your favourite lazy girl breakfast? Let me know in the comments below.

Makeup Revolution | Haul

Make up Revolution are one of my favourite brands, not only are they lovely to work with as a blogger but the products they bring out are amazing quality and easy on the bank balance. I had a little splurge with my pay last month and picked up quite a few things, including these. You can never  have enough make up and if someone tells you otherwise, who cares? Certainly not me.

Anyway, the first thing that caught my eye while scrolling through all the beautiful new palettes was this 32 Shade Matte Palette, a complete steal at only £8 for 32 shades. That's crazy. I've been using these most days since purchasing them. The pigmentation is perfect and they all blend well into each other, you can mix and match pretty much the whole palette. Alongside an eyeshadow primer it doesn't need to be reapplied throughout the day. Which is handy cause you don't want to be carrying around a massive palette in your handbag.

I seem to be buying blushers a lot, I have a draw full! The Baked Golden Sugar Palette is a beauty. Another bargain for £6. The mixed marble effect colours and super shimmer have an amazing finish, I wouldn't really use highlighter as well otherwise your face will just be reflecting light all over the place. You also have contour on the end which are perfect to sculpt your face before applying the blush.

I also picked up some necessities, the Focus and Fix Concealer and the Professional Blending Eye Brush. I've not really experimented with concealer, I tend to stick to Rimmels Wake me up or the Collection one that Zoella always raves about. The Concealer was only £2 so I thought why not. It has good medium coverage and covers all the bits you don't want to see. It doesn't last all day and does need a reapplication but I normally redo my powder and blusher on my lunch so no bother there.

I've wanted a blending brush for ages and only just got round to getting one I don't know why, I'm just forgetful. I normally just blended the colours together with my finger but with the brush it gives a more flawless finish and the colour merge and blend really well. I won't be going back. Picked the brush up for £1.99.

Make Guests Love Your Guestroom Just As Much As Their Own Bedroom!*

Do you have a spare room that you now want to go ahead and turn into a guestroom? Or perhaps the current room you use for visiting friends and family is a bit lacklustre. Instead, it should be a warm and welcoming place filled with happy things and useful things too! Read on for a guide to making your guestroom so idyllic, they’ll enjoy staying in it even more than their own bedroom.

Make sure it is colourful
A dull and drab bedroom isn’t appealing to anybody. Even if you are trying to give the impression of a calming and serene environment, there is no need for the room to be just white and black. Add some throw cushions of a brighter colour, but pick a fabric that you can wash quickly and easily at home.

Live LAGOM | The Update*

So it's been a while since I had a huge shop at ikea with the intention of making a few changes to reduce my waste and bills. I didn't expect it to change too drastically and wanted to be realistic. I was making small changes and only expected small benefits from it.

To reduce bills, I brought some LED lamps to have in the bedroom to stop using the big light. I also picked up some touch lights for early morning and midnight trips to the toilet. All this helped save the electricity. Certain areas of my flat also got quite cold during the winter so I picked up some high pile rugs which are so thick and so cosy. I stopped putting the heating on and also had a different mind set since choosing to live more LAGOM.

I'd snuggle on the sofa and get a hot water bottle then turn on the heating. I'd use my lamps to read before bed then keeping the big light on. These small changes massively affected my bills. My gas bill came down from £34 a month to £20. My electric bill came down from £25 to £19. Over a year that would save me £240 that I otherwise would not of had. It's such a big difference for little changes.

I also wanted to reduce food waste. I used the Live LAGOM way and also had a hand from Jamie Oliver's Save With Jamie recipe book. I got a blackboard for the kitchen to plan the meals for the week ahead and then I knew exactly what to buy from the shop and not just pick up random things then need to keep nipping out for more items. I have started to freeze more food if I'm not going to use it and if there are left overs, I take them to work the next day for lunch or put them in my ikea freezer bags and keep them handy for when I'm on a late shift. Again, I've made small lifestyle changes and these have saved me £60 a month on my shopping. I'm eating healthier and over a year that would save me £720.

So since starting this and if I carry on, in a year I will save £960, just under £1000. That's not to bad if I say so myself. I recommend taking the Live LAGOM lifestyle on. It can change your life in a good way, but a subtle way where you won't really even notice.

Preparing For Summer: Fashion & Beauty Advice

The weather is warming up which can only mean one thing - summer is coming. I don’t know about you but I couldn’t be more excited. I love, love, love the warm summer weather and am always so excited for it to arrive. To make the countdown to summer more exciting, I thought I would share a few beauty and fashion essentials with you. These are all things that come summer, every girl needs.

Face & body creams

Come summer; our skin has a tendency to dry out. If you want beautiful summer skin, taking good care of it from tip to toe is important. There are lots of creams to choose from, but the best ones tend to be the natural options. Things like shea butter and coconut oil are amazing for your skin because they’re free from any chemical nasties. Because they’re oil based, they hydrate your skin and lock in moisture. If you’re not a fan of moisturising after a shower, why not try an in-shower cream instead? You can apply it while in the shower and then wash it off before you get out - it’s a quick and mess-free alternative to applying moisturiser.

BB cream or tinted moisturiser

While in the colder months, full coverage makeup works well, in the summer it’s nice to look more fresh faced. With that in mind, it’s worth investing in a light BB cream or tinted moisturiser. This will give you some coverage, but won’t be too heavy looking. If you plan on spending a lot of time in the sun, it’s a good idea to opt for a BB cream or tinted moisturiser that contains SPF protection. There’s nothing more irritating than having to apply sunscreen over makeup, so it’s best to opt for makeup with SPF already in it.

Sunglasses & case

For summer, sunglasses are a must. If you don’t already have a pair of sunnies, then it’s definitely worth investing in some. There are so many cute designs to choose from, many of which are budget-friendly. Just make sure that whatever glasses you opt for, you choose ones that have both UVA and UVB protection. If you already have sunglasses that you love but are looking a little worse for wear, don’t throw them out. Did you know that if you opt to reglaze sunglasses you can give them a new lease of life? The great thing about reglazing is that it’s cheap and easy to do and is perfect for bringing your old glasses back to life.

Fake tan

Unless you want to hit the beach looking super pale, a little fake tan is a great idea. The fantastic thing about fake tan is that there are so many options to choose from. From spray tanning to creams that allow you to gradually build up a tan, you can use whatever method you like. I don’t know about you, but when it comes to beach body confidence, having a little tan is a must.

Want to be ready for the summer sun - then take these tips on board!
