Taking A Break

I recently went on holiday, something I haven't done for a very long time. I've never been out of the UK and the last two holidays I had were weekends away. Those two are the only ones I've had in probably 10 years. I've never been one of those people who go abroad every year but thats not by choice. Money has always been tight and things always get in the way. We only went to Cornwall this time for a week but it was amazing. It really made me realise you do need to go away every so often getting out of the city and not living the normal life you lead. Do something different and exciting, maybe something you wouldn’t ordinarily be able to do. If you don’t live by the sea like myself, go swimming in it, go on a boat ride. The possibilities are endless.

It is so calming to be by the sea for me, watching the boats and imagine the freedom you would have living like that, you can just get in your boat and go off, out in to the big blue, not a care in the world. If I'm not at work, I'm thinking about housework, blogging, socialising, being a good mum and my brain just doesn't stop. Obviously things like being a mum I am 24/7 and its the most amazing thing I've ever done. This holiday I did think about blogging, but not to the extend where I was worrying if I didn't have any content or didn't get a post up. I just enjoyed my time with my family and experiencing new things.

One of my goals in life for a long time has been to travel more and just see the world. Whether thats a week on a sunny beach in another country or a quaint little village in England I just want to see what’s out there, I want Scott and I to show Lily the world too.  Off the back of this holiday I’ve now organised a holiday already for next year to go to Weymouth for a few days. It has really shown me how important it is to put yourself first and take time out from your normal routine. Not to mention it makes for great blog photos!

Three Things I Want To Do This Year

I am the kind of person that always likes to do new things and try new things. I'm a very curious person and like to know all sorts of things. I think thats why Lily is such a curious baby. There are a few things I would like to do and try this year. I think there is always something new to learn.

There is a lot I want to do each year and I don't get to do it all. We are half way through the year so I have set 3 goals for the rest of the year which should be manageable and achievable.

I've wanted to do this for a while. I don't like guns in a violent sense but this is a harmless way and helps hand/eye coordination. I've seen it on Made in Chelsea before and it did look fun. The only thing that would put me off is how loud it is, you seem to need ear muffs to play so hopefully that will block out the noise. I think I might be doing this soon so fingers crossed I can get this ticked off my list.

A Little Life Update

Surprise, surprise. I've been slacking on the blogging scene again. I've been in a slump, not feeling too good and just have been struggling so much on what to write. There are a few things that have come to light recently which have just made me feel worse but I'm going to work through them. You have to work through things and push yourself otherwise nothing will change. 

The things that have come up I'm sure I will talk about in the future but I'm just not ready yet. It will take time. However, I've set myself a few small goals I'm going to focus on and keep my mind working in a positive way. 

  • Drink more water
  • Work out 
  • Set time aside for blogging/plans
  • Bulk cook meals
  • Take each day as it comes

I really need to focus on my health and I drink far too much caffeine at the moment and I really want to reduce that down and just hydrate my body. I also am struggling with eating/missing meals/not eating right. Due to lack of time and laziness and just feeling meh about it. I am going to find some good recipes I can bulk cook with and do that on a Monday. If you have any recipes for something tasty that will last a few days let me know in the comments below!

I've been back at work the last 2 months now from my maternity leave and it is a struggle trying to balance everything. This is another reason blogging has taken a hit because my main focuses are work and my family. I am so tired and need to readjust to it all again. Any big changes in life like this normally take a hit to the routine you've set yourself up in. 

One of the biggest things is not seeing Lily all day everyday. I hate being away from her, I'm sure this is the same for every mum who returns to work. Unfortunately bills need to be paid still. She really enjoys nursery and it is good for her to socialise with other babies. When I'm coming home from work now after a draining day, eagerly put my key in the door and see my babies face light up with excitement to see me and then seeing Scott, the most amazing Dad and most supportive partner I can ask for. There is nothing better. It makes every second even more precious with her and having cuddles is the best stress release. 

I do have a few new posts in mind, so I'm hoping I can sort out a new schedule and get back into everything and improve. There is always something to work towards.
