Esquires Is Christmas Ready | Coventry

Coffee shops are one of my favourite places to be. I just feel so calm when I'm there. The atmosphere is always amazing, the smell of freshly ground coffee and fresh pastries is my idea of heaven. I had organised with my Coventry Bloggers group for a few of us to go to Esquires Coffee in Coventry and try the new Christmas menu. It is never to early to start feeling festive!

There was a beautiful set up with such cute and festive trinkets and the most scrumptious looking Christmas treats and food to try. I of course went for the classic to start of with a Mince pie, this one was particularly tasty as well as being dairy and gluten free so no affecting my lactose intolerance, yay! It tasted so good as it was but would of been a full 10 out of 10 if it was slightly warmed up.

The other treats they had were gingerbread men, gluten free sticky toffee cheese cake which looked so moreish and appetising. There was also savoury option which was a Winter slice, I'm not a massive fan of things like this but Gemma tried it and said it was delicious and I'm sure she was right. Inside the winter slice is a turkey, bacon and sausage filling.

The last treats out were the mouth watering muffins. There was 3 options, mocha muffin, chocolate and orange and the last one was gingerbread. Every Christmas I normally have gingerbread muffin of some sort so I opted to try the other two. I didn't eat them all but I had a taste of each. The Mocha muffin was as expected, rich with chocolate and coffee flavour, it was very nice and I would have it again for sure. The chocolate and orange cake was gooey and had a soft orange centre, it really tasted like a jaffa cake but in a muffin so who wouldn't like that?

Now on to the main event, the drinks. There are 3 new drinks for the festive season. The first is a golden flat white, not much to say about this, it is a flat white which is a beautiful coffee drink on its own but with some golden sparkle to put you in that festive mood. The second is a a gingerbread latte, a classic. I had this with soy milk and it was very nice, not too sweet and you could taste the gingerbread perfectly.

The last one seemed to be a lot of peoples favourite, the snowball. It is a coconut milk whipped cream hot chocolate with smores syrup and almond flavour. I had this without the extras and but you can have whipped cream and a chocolate wafer on as well. The perfect sweet treat after a day of Christmas shopping in town.

I was so pleased with the new menu and have already gone back to have it again as I was won over by the festive flavours and the care the staff put into making the drinks. I couldn't fault the staff in Esquires in Coventry, they are always friendly and upbeat and happy to have a conversation with you. It is a breath of fresh air from some service I have received at other coffee shops.

What do you think of the festive menu? What would like to try the most? Let me know in the comments below.

  4. I'm gutted that I missed this event as it sounds like you had a lovely time! What better way to get into the festive mood than with a gingerbread latte? I'm so happy to read that they had a gluten free AND dairy free option for the mince pies for you.
