Gaining Confidence This Year*

I really feel that this year I have come out of my shell a bit more. I do more things and keep myself busy. I try to say yes to more things and do things I normally wouldn't do. Some have turned out good and some have not. But we live and we learn, that is what life is all about.

2018 is not too far from being over, the next two months are just a festive whirlwind of mince pies, presents and spending time with those that mean the most to you. Before you know it you will be counting down to the new year and getting a kiss at midnight, whether thats from you husband, partner, mum or pet dog.

2018 has been a crazy year of different emotions, finding out things about myself which I never knew and making and breaking friendships. There have been some friendships that haven't lasted the year and I am okay with that, they were not meant to be and I can see how much happier and more content I am now that I have moved on from them. Late in 2017, I started a group called the Coventry Bloggers it had about 4 members and I wanted to create a potential meet up so we can make friends in the city and maybe see if we could do an event or two.

Fast forward to now, my group has more than 80 members in and people have really come together. I seem to have created a whole little community within Coventry and it is amazing. We have had a lot of events from The Body Shop to night clubs and have a lot more coming up. I would not have dreamt of taking something like this on but I am glad I did and I can't tell you how proud I am and how amazing it feels when people tell me I have changed things or inspired them.

I have flourished in my role as a Mother to my little girl, I was always made to be a Mum, I tend to be the Mum in my friendship groups and make sure everyone is okay. I will always put Lily over everything. She has had a few issues this year with getting poorly but she is growing into such a funny, cheeky and beautiful little girl. I couldn't be more happy with how my little family is.

Another thing that I have done this year, which you will notice from my blog is doing more outfit shots. I'm not 100% happy with my body and I do want to lose weight but I feel confident in myself. I would never have worn something like this Leopard print dress from Boohoo, which fits more like a tunic for me but I absolutely am in love with it! I feel more confident, strong and who I am supposed to be.

Wearing:
Leopard Print Dress - Boohoo
Leggings - Primark
Boots - NewLook

Boohoo have so many amazing dresses you can find here. Wear something out of your comfort zone like me and be your own girl boss!

I really feel like blogging has helped me in so many ways, with confidence, making friends and working on skills like marketing and liaising with brands and my group. What have you took away from having a blog? I would love to know in the comments below.

  2. It is fabulous to hear how far you have come. It can be hard becoming a mum, and how much it changes both you and life. But you are really a huge inspiration, and I’m so grateful for the opportunities you have offered to us as bloggers!
