The Cosy Club Christmas | Coventry

Christmas is only around the corner as we are into November and as cheesy as it is, it's the best time of year! There is nothing about Christmas that I don't like and one of everyones favourite things is Christmas food. The sprouts, the roast potatoes, the scrumptious gravy and everything else! I was over the moon when I was invited to Coventry's Cosy Club to try their Christmas menu. I took my wonderful friend Emma with me, but a lot of my fellow Coventry Bloggers were there as well.

For starters everyone has the same, it is a glorious sharing platter and honestly I could of eaten about 50 of those pigs in blankets they were A-MA-ZING. On the platter you had, smoked salmon blinis, cumberland pigs in blankets, halloumi and sweetcorn bites, slow-cooked pork belly bites, baked camembert and mushroom, tarragon and chestnut pate. I didn't try the smoked salmon as I don't eat fish but the rest of it was delicious! I even was naughty and has some camembert and halloumi bites even though I'm lactose intolerant. The little bites didn't matter! My favourite was the pigs in blankets and the pork belly. Pork belly is one of my ultimate favourite meats although it is quite fatty but I have on a rare occasion.

For my main and not wanting more dairy in the mash etc, I went for the vegan option. There was only one option which was vegan and that was beetroot, carrot and parsnip pie, this was topped with sage and onion crust on creamy mash with roasted maple-glazed carrots and parsnips. Then herb roasted sprouts and gravy. I did want to try the pork belly main but I thought it would be better for me and I didn't want to be feeling poorly from to much dairy. I was so surprised at how this gravy could be vegan, with no meat juices it was delicious and very moreish. The portions you get are surprisingly huge so I couldn't even finish the meal as I wanted to keep some room for dessert. But you would certainly get your money's worth for it.

Despite having no meat, I loved it, I didn't feel like I was missing out on anything. The mash was really creamy and the vegetables were cooked to perfection. I would happily eat this again, even typing about it is making my mouth water.

For dessert I opted again for the only vegan option, which was chocolate and orange torte with raspberry sauce. It was very rich and the bitter raspberry sauce really complemented and made the chocolate torte taste a lot nicer in my opinion. I was so pleased with the evening, we were greeted with some prosecco and tried some of their new cocktails which are to die for! There is a cherry bakewell cocktail which you can get in a pitcher and I could of drank it all night long.

I do also want to give a massive shout out to the staff, they were so polite and friendly, went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy. I do feel that people are so quick to complain when something isn't right but we don't always praise good service and the staff in Coventry's Cosy Club are top notch! I was so satisfied and happy with everything I took the menu into work next day and we are booked in there for our Christmas meal. So not only have I tried this delicious meal, I get to have it again! I will 100% be having the pork belly meal this time and I cannot wait!

At the end of all that exceptional food, we were given mince pies and you couldn't not make room for a mince pie. It definitely brought the Christmas feel to the meal and tied everything neatly together. If you live in Coventry or have a Cosy Club near you, I 100% recommend for you to go there and give it a go, you will not be disappointed. What is your favourite thing about Christmas dinner? Have you ever had one at a restaurant? Let me know in the comments below.
